This antibody, clone YCATE 55.9 was clustered as CD8 in the first canine leukocyte antigen workshop. The antibody reacts with canine CD8a transfectants. Clone YCATE 55.9 is reported to block MHC class I dependant T-cell responses in vitro and in vivo.
Flow Cytometry: Neat - 1/5, use 10 μL of the suggested working dilution to label 10^6 cells in100l. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

The CD8 antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes that mediates efficient cell to cell interactions within the immune system. The CD8 antigen, acting as a coreceptor, and the T cell receptor on the T lymphocyte recognize antigen displayed by an antigen presenting cell (APC) in the context of class I MHC molecules.
